I've seen several items from the Keepsakes Collection and they’re beautiful.  The Studio Brush Kit is definitely one to pick up — for yourself, as well as a gift! The pearlized handles in winter white are so elegant. I also love the ‘Beige Eyes‘ Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is great for the neutral lover (and who isn’t!?!). It's celebration time and everyone celebrates a 25th anniversary in their own special way.  This time M·A·C is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Simpsons with a makeup collection. The Simpsons™ Collection pays homage to Marge, blue hair and all. 

I’ve always believed that there is no one better than M·A·C to interpret pop culture through makeup. As they have done in the past with iconic collections like Hello Kitty, the Marilyn Monroe Collection, Archie’s Girls and the latest one Maleficent, M·A·C reigns supreme.

 

The Simpsons Collection brings a touch of whimsy and nostalgia with product names like “Beehive Blue” and “Lisa’s Spikes”.  I received samples of M·A·C The Simpsons Collection to preview and the first thing to hit you is the brilliant colors. The eyeshadow quads are so vibrant!! For me, the quad that is most wearable is Marge’s Extra Ingredients Quad; the violet, navy, bright blue and pink shades can definitely be used to make an eye look that pops without being over the top.  But of course its nice ans super fun to play with all 4 colors and mix it up.  And  if you want to really amp up the look, get the 7 Lash eyelashes and experiment with a new fun and extravagant look. And lets face it, how fun are the bright nail stickers?

National Lipstick Day!

Today is National Lipstick Day and while it seems like every day is “National Something-or-Other Day”, as a fashion and beauty blogger, National Lipstick Day is something I can celebrate!  If you know me, you know I love my lippies. Even if I don’t have time to put on makeup, you’ll rarely catch me leaving my house without at least a bit of lip color on.  So I thought it would be fun to round up my favorite lipsticks into three color categories: brights, nudes and bolds.

 

Have you noticed that a lipstick can totally change your mood or change up your look? That’s why I have so many of them, and for me, a lipstick is one of the hardest makeup products to resist. Every season, the color palettes or formulas change just enough to lure me in. Some of the shades in my collection are limited-edition and no longer available, so I’ve listed a shade that’s close within the same formula.

There are many different ways to apply lipstick, for the bold cream formulas especially, I usually apply a dot of foundation to lips first, then apply the lipstick, blot with a tissue, reapply, then dab on a bit of transparent loose powder to set. I like to use lip liner with almost every shade and texture, it prevents the color from bleeding and it gives you a smooth almost perfect finish to your lips.

A little pop of Orange
