If you like This, try That

Hey Fashionistas!!  You know how pages like Amazon and Ebay makes recommendations based on products you've bought? Well this is my version of that featuring new ways to wear stuff and ideas that you already love.  I will give you trends that are totally in this for this upcoming Very Hot Weather and that are definitely worth trying.  Enjoy!

1. IF YOU LIKE JEANS & FUNKY TOPS, TRY FLIPPING THE LOOK

So you know how we tend to keep patterns and busy prints for top while wearing neutral monochromatic bottoms.
Well how about flipping the look, wear a simple T-shirt
or plain blouse while pairing it with printed bottoms.

2. IF YOU LIKE PRINT-MIXING, TRY PRINT-MATCHING
You may know by now I love mixing prints and patterns but let me tell you something else.  In case you've always thought of matchy-matchiness as a no-no, Katharine McPhee (in striped Tanya Taylor) and Jamie Chung (in polka-dotted Banana Republic x Marimekko) are here to convince you it's a win-win.  Just remeber this combo will work as long as the separates are chic and the accessories contrast with the rest of the look.  If you have doubts on Mixing Prints check out this previous post.

3. IF YOU LIKE ANKLE-STRAP HEELS, TRY ANKLE-WRAP HEELS

These tie-on pumps will be everywhere this summer. Bionda Castana is the brand behind the ones you see on celebs like Hailee Steinfeld and Rachel Bilson, but we're starting to see affordable versions, too.

4. IF YOU LIKE HIGH-LOW DRESSES, TRY THE ASYMMETRICAL HEMLINE

Let me brake it to you, the mullet haircut has been out of style for decades and the mullet hemline is in need of an update as well. Luckily, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Jennifer Lawrence deliver up an alternative with their higher-on-one-side dresses (Rubin Singer and Christian Dior Resort, respectively).

5. IF YOU LIKE PLEATS, KEEP WEARING PLEATS

That's my way of saying that there's no way to improve upon this style ... except by incorporating more of the folds into your wardrobe. We love the ladylike accordion pleats on Adriana Lima's midi and the wider box ones on Kendall Jenner's romper.

6. IF YOU LIKE STATEMENT NECKLACES, TRY BODY CHAINS

So this trend is HOT for this season and not just for beach photo shoots any more, these delicate designs are popping up on the red carpet under formal dresses, as seen on Lea Michele and Sophia Bush.  I bought mine online but you can certainly find them online or at your local stores and mall. Here's a link where you can find a variety of  Body Chains in different styles, online stores and prices.
